100km for Wendie
for Wendie
October 18th 2022 marks the 10th year that Wendie, my mum, hasn't been around anymore. In 2012 she lost her battle against breast cancer and I want to commemorate her and celebrate the beautiful life full of smiles she lived.
To do so, I will take on Hong Kong's Maclehose Trail (100km) and aim to finish it in under 24hrs.
October not only marks the month she lost her battle, but is also breast cancer awareness month. Besides raising funds, I also aim to raise awareness around breast cancer and show support to anyone who lost a mother.

The Maclehose Trail
The Maclehose Trail is a hiking trail in Hong Kong, running over some of its tallest mountains such as the Tai Mo Shan (957m). The trail has a total elevation gain of ±5000m and I am aiming to finish this in under 24hrs.
The Charity
The charity I have chosen to run and raise funds for is a Belgian foundation called Fonds Multidisciplinair Borstcentrum Leuven. This foundation aims to advance and support research, but also the realization of projects in the diagnosis, treatment, support and follow-up of patients with breast cancer.
